Cleanse Hands: Start with clean, dry hands. If you've recently applied nail polish or any other treatments, make sure to remove them thoroughly.

Shake the Bottle: Give your cuticle oil bottle a good shake to mix the ingredients well.

Apply the Oil: Most cuticle oils come in a bottle with a built-in brush, dropper, or rollerball for easy application. Gently apply the oil directly onto each cuticle area. If your oil comes in a bottle without an applicator, you can use a cotton ball or pad to apply the oil.

Massage: Use your fingertips to gently massage the oil into your cuticles and the skin surrounding your nails. Take your time to ensure the oil is well-absorbed. This also boosts blood circulation to the nail bed, which can promote healthier growth.

Extend to Nails: If you like, you can also brush or dab the oil onto the nail itself for added nourishment. Some people even like to apply it to the underside of the nail if they have particularly long nails.

Wait or Wipe: Allow the oil to be absorbed naturally by your skin. This usually takes a few minutes. If you're in a hurry or find that you've applied too much oil, you can gently wipe away the excess with a tissue or cotton ball.

Instructions for patch testing cuticle oils

Choose a Test Area: Opt for an area of skin that is sensitive but not overly exposed, like the inside of your wrist or elbow.

Cleanse the Area: Wash the area with mild soap and water, and then pat it dry with a clean towel.

Apply a Small Amount: Use a cotton swab or cotton ball to apply a small drop of the cuticle oil to the cleansed area.

Cover It: Cover the area with a band-aid or a small piece of medical tape to keep the oil in place and avoid rubbing it off.

Time It: Leave the oil on the skin for at least 24 to 48 hours. Refrain from washing the test area during this time to give your skin ample time to react, if it's going to.

Inspect the Skin: After the waiting period, remove the band-aid or tape and closely inspect the area for any signs of irritation or an allergic reaction, such as redness, itchiness, or swelling.

Evaluate the Results:

If there's no reaction, it’s likely safe to proceed with using the cuticle oil on your nails.

If you observe any signs of irritation or an allergic reaction, wash the area thoroughly and discontinue use of the product.
